Robinson, Pagaduan commit to play for Rainbow Wahine

The University of Hawai'i softball team received commitments from four athletes, including two Hawai'i players, for the 2008-09 season.

Moanalua's Sarah Robinson and Kamehameha's Dara Pagaduan join Californians Kelly Majam and Stephanie Ricketts as future Rainbow Wahine.

Robinson, younger sister of UH All-American Kate Robinson, was an Advertiser All-State selection as a pitcher last year. She was 16-5 with a 1.00 ERA and hit .425.

Pagaduan can play second base, shortstop and third base. She was an Interscholastic League of Honolulu honorable mention selection in 2007 after hitting .436. In 2006, she was an ILH first-team member.

Majam, a southpaw from Pine Valley, Calif., can play the outfield or pitch. Ricketts is a 6-foot right-handed pitcher/first baseman.

"I'm really excited about this group of blue-chip athletes who will help sustain the high level of play that we have attained the last couple of seasons," Hawai'i coach Bob Coolen said.
