The man who has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run accident on Kaua'i on Saturday was identified today as Jeremy Dang, 26, of Kalaheo.

Kaua'i police said Dang is suspected of being the hit-and-run driver who struck a man walking on Koloa Road around 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning near Blackstad Road Junction.

Dang has been charged with first-degree negligent injury.

The pedestrian, a 24-year-old Kalaheo man, sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Wilcox Hospital and then airlifted to The Queen's Medical Center on O'ahu.
