'Hawaii's Emergency Communications' targets seniors

Advertiser Staff

Doug Carlson, a former spokesman for Hawaiian Electric, will be discussing issues that affect seniors and those with disabilities at an 11:30 a.m. luncheon program called "Hawaii's Emergency Communications — Still in Intensive Care."

Carlson was with HECO when Hurricane Iwa struck 25 year ago and has also been through numerous power outages throughout the 1980s.

A $5 donation to attend the program is suggested. The meeting will be at Miyama Main Hall, Harris United Methodist Church, and last until 1 p.m.
