'Hawaii's Emergency Communications' targets seniors

Doug Carlson, a former spokesman for Hawaiian Electric, will be discussing issues that affect seniors and those with disabilities at an 11:30 a.m. luncheon program called "Hawaii's Emergency Communications Still in Intensive Care."Carlson was with HECO when Hurricane Iwa struck 25 year ago and has also been through numerous power outages throughout the 1980s.
A $5 donation to attend the program is suggested. The meeting will be at Miyama Main Hall, Harris United Methodist Church, and last until 1 p.m.
