Advertiser Staff

University of Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan and linebacker Solomon Elimimian, who helped lead the undefeated Warriors to their first outright Western Athletic Conference football title with a 39-27 victory over Boise State, today were named WAC offensive and defensive players of the Week, respectively..

Brennan completed 40 of 53 passes for 495 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for another score in ending Boise State's five-year reign as WAC champion.

His first touchdown pass — a 6-yarder to Ryan Grice-Mullins — broke Ty Detmer's NCAA record for most career touchdown passes. Brennan entered the game tied with Detmer at 121. Brennan's record is now 126.

This is the fourth time this season that Brennan has been named WAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Elimimian was in on 14 tackles, 10 unassisted as the Warriors held Boise State to 101 total rushing yards. Bronco back Ian Johnson was held to 86 yards.

Hawai'i (11-0), ranked No. 12 in the Bowl Championship Series standings, faces Washington in the regular season finale Saturday at Aloha Stadium.
