The previous ranking was 10th.

Penn State (28-2) remained at No. 1 in the poll, followed by Nebraska and Texas.

The Rainbow Wahine (26-5), seeded 11th in the NCAA Tournament, face Tennessee State (20-13) in the first round on Friday in Louisville, Ky.

Tennessee State, the Ohio Valley Conference champions, are making their tournament debut and have two freshmen who graduated from Kamehameha-Hawai'i in Makena Naho'oikaika and Precious Salazar.
