Mental health group holds meeting, potluck

The Mental Health Association in Maui will hold its 35th Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner on Dec. 5. The event, open to the public, will start at 5 p.m. at the Cameron Center in Wailuku.

Speakers include Marian Poirier, executive director of Nami-O'ahu, who will discuss the "Top Ten Mental Health Issues in Hawai'i," and Steven Onken, of Mental Health Services Research Evaluation and Training, who will lead a discussion on "Advocacy in Recovery."

The Mental Health Association in Maui is a volunteer, nonprofit organization that works to promote mental health, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, and provides public education and advocacy.
