Flash-flood watch issued for Oahu, Kauai, Niihau

Advertiser Staff

A flash-flood watch is in effect for O'ahu, Kaua'i and Ni'ihau as a strong upper trough approaching the islands is expected to bring the threat of heavy rain and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service said the heavy rain will be moving over these islands tonight and early tomorrow. The watch is in effect until tomorrow afternoon.

A flash-flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flooding. Residents are urged to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash-flood warnings be issued.
