Water main repaired, but 2 Vineyard lanes still closed

Advertiser Staff

Board of Water Supply officials said this morning that service has been restored following yesterday's 12-inch water main break at 420 North Vineyard Blvd.

BWS crews worked overnight and are still working to backfill the hole, so the two 'ewa-bound lanes on the mauka side between 'A'ala and Liliha streets are expected to remain closed for the day.

Crews will also have to restore and repave the road.

One makai side, 'ewa-bound lane will remain open, so motorists are urged to find alternate routes today.

The break was reported just before 1:30 p.m. yesterday, leaving one business without water. The main was installed in 1958.
