Man accused of sex attack on Waimanalo teen

Prosecutors today charged a 20-year-old man in connection with the alleged sex assault of a 16-year-old girl Sunday at a Waimanalo recreation area.Alema Ikaika Siliva Lealao Mahelona of a Hihimanu Street address was charged with first-degree sex assault and has an initial appearance scheduled tomorrow at District Court.
Mahelona is being held overnight at the main police station cellblock in lieu of $60,000 bail.
