Lane closures announced on Maui

The state Department of Transportation advises Maui motorists of various lane closures at the intersection of Puunene Avenue and Kaahumanu Avenue in all directions from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today for lane restriping.At non-peak hours, traffic may be temporarily halted in all directions as crews restripe lane markers in the middle of the intersection.
Maui police officers will be on-site to direct traffic through the intersection.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
Motorists are also advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time.
Roadwork is weather-permitting.
