Pulitzer-winning 'Doubt' set for Manoa Valley Theatre

"Doubt," one of Broadway's most honored new plays, will make its O'ahu debut in January at Manoa Valley Theatre.Written by John Patrick Shanley (Academy Award-winner for "Moonstruck"), the provocative drama is concerned with about paranoia and pedophilia in the Catholic Church. It won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for drama and 2005 Tony Award for Best Play while on Broadway.
The play is currently being made into a motion picture starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman; production is slated to begin in New York City next month.
MVT's stage production will be guest-directed by Vanita Rae Smith. Jo Pruden has been cast as Sister Aloysius; Russell Motter plays Father Flynn; Melanie Garcia plays Sister James and Anette Kauahikaua plays Mrs. Muller.
