Street Bikers United sets annual Toy Run Parade

Advertiser Staff

The sounds of motorcycles and the sight of many donated toys can only mean one thing — the Street Bikers United Toy Run Parade is coming on Sunday.

This annual motorcycle parade collects thousands of donated toys from Hawai'i's motorcycle community to provide Christmas gifts for children.

Street Bikers United Hawaii, in conjunction with the Waimanalo Teen Project and the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Toys Program, is hosting the 33rd Annual Street Bikers United Toy Run Parade 2007.

This year 5,000 bikes are expected to leave Magic Island at 11 a.m. and ride through Waikiki to Kapi'olani Community College where the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will be waiting with trucks to receive the gifts.

Since 1947, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program has fulfilled the wishes of millions of disadvantaged children during the holidays, "reinforcing the joy and the true meaning of Christmas."

Mayor Mufi Hannemann will be present at the start of the parade. For more information on the 33rd Annual SBU Toy Run Parade at Magic Island, call Rick Davis at 261-2594.
