Red Cross warns about fraudulent holiday solicitors

HONOLULU — The American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter, is advising the public to be wary of individuals and groups who are purporting to solicit on behalf of the Red Cross during the holidays. At this time, the only fundraising being conducted by the Hawaii Red Cross is through its mailings and its Web site.Any suspicious fundraising should be reported to the Red Cross at 739-8108 or to the police.
