Rain showers expected today on Oahu and Kauai

A weakening cold front is expected to stall north of the Islands today, bringing showers mainly to Kaua'i and O'ahu, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds out of the southwest will increase on Saturday and Sunday ahead of a stronger cold front, forecasters said.

This front will move down across Maui County Sunday night before stalling.

Here's a closer look at the new few days:

Today, mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Highs 79 to 84. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight, mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows 68 to 73. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Saturday, partly sunny with scattered showers. Highs around 82. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Saturday night, mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows 70 to 75. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Sunday, mostly cloudy with numerous showers. Breezy. Highs 76 to 81. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Sunday night, mostly cloudy with numerous showers. Lows 69 to 74. West winds 15 to 20 mph shifting to the north 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 60 percent.
