Filmmaker David Lynch to iChat at UH on meditation

Iconic filmmaker David Lynch will speak live via iChat videoconference during a presentation on "Creativity, Filmmaking, and Meditation," at the University of Hawai'i Campus Center, Room 307/308, on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m.The award-winning director of "Elephant Man," "Blue Velvet," "Twin Peaks," and "Mulholland Drive" will answer questions on any topic from the audience.
Lynch is also author of the national bestseller, "Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity" (Tarcher/Penguin) and chair of the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace. The Lynch Foundation has provided millions of dollars for in school Transcendental Meditation programs to help students overcome stress, anxiety, and depression, and improve learning ability and academic outcomes.
Results from a recently completed two-year Lynch Foundation-funded study on the effects of TM practice on 300 university students, which was conducted by American University in Washington, D.C., found meditating students showed faster recovery from stress, increased brain integration, and increased intelligence.
The University of Hawai'i presentation is sponsored by the David Lynch Foundation and the TM Club with additional funding from the ASUH.
