Citizen Cope to play Billabong Pro Maui party Dec. 7

Alt-rock band Citizen Cope will play a Maui benefit concert kicking off the Billabong Pro Maui Surf Tournament on Dec. 7.

The Official Women's Billabong Pro Maui Kick-Off party at Hard Rock Cafe Maui will feature a live performance by Citizen Cope — best known for its '90s radio hit "Better Days" — and local turntablists.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Global Angels Foundation, an international charity dedicated to improving the lives of children.

Citizen Cope's set begins at 9 p.m. Suggested donation is $5. Ages 21 and over only.

The Billabong Pro Maui tournament will feature the world's best female touring professional surfers in the final event of the 2007 Women's World Championship Tour. Competition takes place at Honolua Bay.
