Advertiser Staff

Punana Leo o Kawaiaha'o Preschool will kick off its annual ocean conservation awareness campaign with a community beach cleanup day at One'ula Beach Park in 'Ewa Beach from 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow.

'Ewa Beach resident Henry Chang Wo will also explain to the volunteers the process of limu restoration for 'Ewa Beach reefs.

The cleanup is the first event in Punana Leo o Kawaiaha'o's E Malama I Ke Kai campaign, which strives to increase awareness for the protection of Hawai'i's ocean resources. The campaign will culminate with the 10th E Malama I Ke Kai Ocean Awareness Festival at Kapi'olani Beach Park on May 17.

The Kawaiaha'o preschool is one of 11 Punana Leo preschools in the state.
