SUNSET BEACH
Ho'olaulea will celebrate preservation of coastline

Advertiser Staff

Since the 1980s the North Shore community has been working to ensure that 1,129 unspoiled acres of North Shore coastline would not be developed.

Now that the Pupukea/Paumalu lands have been preserved, those who were involved in the effort say it's time to celebrate with a ho'olaulea, from 10:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 8 at Sunset Beach Elementary School.

The public is invited to the event which will feature oli, a blessing, pupukea stories, music and refreshments. Parking and shuttles will be available at the Waimea Valley Audubon Center. Very limited parking at the school field.

RSVP by today at www.tpl.org/pupukeaevent or call the Trust for Public Lands at 415-495-5660, ext. 618.
