Firefighters rescue two hikers in Waialua

The Honolulu Fire Department's helicopter located two missing male hikers who were brought out safely late last night.The hikers used a cell phone to communicate information to HFD dispatchers that helped the helicopter lock in on their location with use of GPS equipment, said Fire Department spokesman Capt. Earle Kealoha.
The search started at 10:06 p.m. and firefighters located the men in the valley below Mt. Ka'ala across from the entrance to Poamoho Estates, said Kealoha.
The hikers were brought out uninjured at 11:39 p.m.
