Local film on post-war effects screens Oct. 5, 11

"Empty Streets," a short film by Paul Booth, will be premiered in in Honolulu and on Kaua'i this month. The film explores post-traumatic stress syndrome through the eyes of a Honolulan returning from combat and service with the Marines.

Honolulu: 7 p.m. Friday, Spalding Auditorium, University of Hawai'i-Manoa. Tickets: $5 adults, $3 students.

Kaua'i: 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11, Kaua'i Community College dining room, Lihu'e. A donation is suggested.

Booth is a producer with Honolulu ties who has been a booster of the Hawai'i Student Film Festival. He also produced Aaron Yamasato's "Ninja EX," which has aired on OC 16.
