Wailuku's Miyajima in 2nd in LPGA Sectional Qualifying

Shayna Miyajima of Wailuku is in second place after today's opening round of the LPGA Sectional Qualifying at Plantation Golf Club, in Venice, Fla. Miyajima shot a 4-under-par 68 and trails leader Na-Yeon Choi by a shot.Hilo's Leah Whiting opened with a 79 and Kailua's Bridget Keala Dwyer shot 80. She is tied for 126th.
The LPGA second sectional runs through Friday. The field of 149 features 24 amateurs, 56 international players and golfers from 34 states.
The field will be cut to the low 70 and ties tomorrow. The top 30 (and ties) after Friday's final round advance to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, Nov. 28 to Dec. 2 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
