HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, WEST HAWAI'I

Habitat for Humanity, West Hawai'i, has named Vicky Bauman executive director of the Big Island affiliate of the international nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness.

Also hired was Jim Uding to head the new Habitat for Humanity, West Hawai'i, Restore store, which will sell reusable and surplus building materials to the public to fund construction of Habitat houses within the West Big Island community. Restore materials sold are donated from building supply stores, contractors, demolition crews and individuals.

Nonprofit management veteran Bauman will also oversee management of facilities, volunteer and staff development, and community collaborations. She has served as the interim executive director and office manager of the organization. Before that, she was executive director of the YMCA of Greater Toledo (Ohio).

Uding comes to Habitat for Humanity from Sootheze, manufacturer of personal comfort products, and before that, was in wholesale lumber and building materials sales and distribution in California.

KEAUHOU BAY RESORT AND SPA

Brad DoelL, who joined Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa as director of group sales in 2005, has been named director of sales and marketing. Besides national and local marketing programs, he will also oversee customer education, group and leisure sales managers and assistants, and employee training and retention. Prior to joining the 22-oceanfront-acre Big Island resort, the 15-year hotel and corporate sales veteran was Starwood Hotels global account director for Western Canada. He replaces Revell Newton who was promoted to senior director of group sales for Starwood Hotels in Waikiki.

CATHEDRAL GIFT SHOP

TERI HIRANO, former shift manager at Cathedral Gift Shop's store at Ala Moana Center, has been named manager of the Christian gift shop's recently opened second store at Windward Mall. Her assistant manager is DALE NG. Hirano is also a former store manager at Ala Moana Stamp and Coin Shop. Cathedral Gift Shop is popularly known as an outlet for the Precious Moments figurines.
