Preps: Open house for new basketball referees

Advertiser Staff

The O'ahu Basketball Referees Association is having an open house for individuals interested in officiating high school basketball.

The open house is scheduled for Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Moanalua High School athletic department's room 202. It is also open to individuals with no experience or those interested in officiating youth and intermediate leagues.

The association is a nonprofit organization that officiates O'ahu Interscholastic Association boys and girls basketball games. All members will later attend mandatory sessions in rules, mechanics, and philosophy as well as on-court situations.

For current OBRA members, the first general meeting will be held on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at Moanalua.
