Advertiser Staff

Nada Marriott and Sharon Yarbrough, partners in the new venture, Expert Event Planners of Hawaii, are bringing Los Angeles-based author and filmmaker Audrey King Lewis to Honolulu for an exclusive book signing of her recently published work, "Why? Why Did Marvin's Father Shoot and Kill Him" at the company's inaugural event.

Lewis is the featured speaker and will autograph her book at a White-On-White afternoon gala, 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 7 at Norfolk Estates Villa, 42-102 Aleka Place, Kailua.

Tickets, $75, include an autographed copy of the book, which chronicles the life and death of legendary R&B singer, Marvin Gaye, as told to the author by his sister, Zeola.

"Let's Get it On" celebrates the grand opening of Expert Event Planners of Hawaii, LLC, a special event company.

Singer and performer Sonya Mendez will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies. Marvin Gaye's music will be performed live throughout the afternoon by Hawaii's top rhythm & blues musicians, sax man Rocky Holmes, pianist Tennyson Stephens and pianist & vocalist David Swanson.

Guests will have a unique opportunity to meet the author and hear her speak about her book and her many years as a personal friend of the Marvin Gaye family. In celebration of Expert Event Planners of Hawaii debut, guests are requested to bring a book to be donated to Read Aloud America.

Guests will be chauffeured to the Villa entrance where they will be treated to food and drink. Professional golf instructor Rob Nelson of the San Diego Golf Academy will be on hand to offer golf tips, and Moku Ola will provide soothing Reflexology chair massages.
