UH Board of Regents elects new chairman

The University of Hawai'i Board of Regents elected Allan R. Landon to serve as its new chairperson for the 2007-2008 year. The board also elected Andres Albano Jr. to serve as vice chairperson.

Landon has served as a Board of Regents member since 2005 and is chairman and chief executive officer of Bank of Hawai'i. He holds a BS degree from Iowa State University and has attended executive programs at Duke and Northwestern universities. An accountant by education, he was a partner with Ernst and Young LLP prior to joining the Bank of Hawai'i.

Landon is active on numerous boards including serving as chairman of Hawai'i Medical Service Association, and a director of the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai'i, Catholic Charities of Hawai'i, Public Schools of Hawai'i Foundation and more. He is also an officer of the Hawai'i Business Roundtable and is active with the Military Affairs Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawai'i. Landon previously served as the treasurer of the University of Hawai'i Foundation.
