Catholic priest offering 'Spiritual Writers' series

The Rev. Jack Ryan, pastor of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic parish, is giving a free series of classes on "Great Spiritual Writers Class" at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.The series of classes will run one Thursday each month through May, and will begin with the recently published writings of Mother Theresa. Others topics include: The Desert Fathers, St. Benedict, Dante and St. Bernard of Clairvaux, the English Mystics, Theresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Charles de Foucauld and Thomas Merton.
