Ocean users are advised to stay at least 30 feet clear of a submerged obstruction marked by two small, orange buoys approximately 100 yards off Diamond Head in the Tongg's surf break.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources issued a news release yesterday saying salvagers were unsuccessful in removing the keel of the sailing vessel Victoria, which ran aground in this spot on Monday morning. Attempts will be made to remove the keel today or as soon as surf conditions allow.

The keel is submerged during high tide and may have sharp or pointed edges that could seriously injure ocean users.

Ocean users along this portion of Waikiki coastline should also be on the lookout for pieces of floating boat debris that escaped collection over the past two days.
