Nuuanu burglary suspect arrested on city bus

Police yesterday stopped and boarded a city bus on Pali Highway to arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary.

Arvin Comesario was being held at the main police station cellblock on an outstanding $15,000 warrant but had not yet been charged tonight for the other offenses.

Comesario was arrested by Kalihi Crime Reduction Unit officers after witnesses told police investigating a break-in and car ramming at a Kahawalu Drive residence in Nu'uanu.

A second suspect wanted for investigation is still at large.

Police said a woman, 42, returned home at about 2 p.m. and saw two men loading items into a vehicle parked in her garage.

The men attempted to flee by ramming their vehicle into the woman's car, which was blocking the driveaway. At that point, one of the suspects fled on foot but the other man allegedly punched the rolled-up window and yelled at the woman to move her car, police said.

The man ran when he saw the woman talking on a cellphone, police said. He was later arrested on the bus and identified in a field lineup by witnesses as the burglary-robbery suspect.
