Jim Brickman to play two January gigs in Hawaii

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Writer

Jim Brickman, the celebrated romantic poet of the piano, will return to the Islands for a pair of concerts Jan. 18-19 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

Details, including show time and ticket sale launch, are not immediately available.

Brickman, however, brings his artistry to the tube when he headlines PBS Hawaii's Live Membership Drive at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 on Channel 10. His "Love Songs and Lullabies" PBS special features keyboarder Brickman with guest performers Jane Krakowski, All-4-One, Amy Sky as well as violinist Tracy Silverman.

As part of the PBS drive, viewers who make sizeable contributions will get a chance to meet Brickman at his Jan. 19 concert. "We hope that 'Love Songs and Lullabies' inspires our viewers to pledge their support for high quality programming they've come to expect from PBS Hawaii," said Leslie Wilcox, station president and CEO.

Loretta Ables Sayre, who just landed the Bloody Mary role in a Lincoln Center Theater revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "South Pacific" on Broadway next April, will co-host the pledge drive with Harry Soria Jr., longtime radio and website personality.
