Mackey Lecture speaker to offer concert, workshop

National youth and worship leader Jesse Manibusan will headline the free concert, "Open My Eyes: Act of Compassion in Our Backyard," at 4 p.m. Oct. 28 at Mamiya Theatre on the Chaminade University campus.

It's part of the Mackey Lecture series.

Manibusan, a singer, songwriter, guitarist and teller of humorous tales, often appears at Roman Catholic conferences and youth events. He holds a master's degree in multicultural ministries from the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley, Calif.

He'll also present a workshop on "The Multi Cultural Church" at 9 a.m. Oct. 27 in the Mystical Rose Oratory: $15 ($20 at the door), includes refreshments and a light lunch.
