WAIPAHU
Spooky stories, haunted house

Advertiser Staff

The Waipahu Public Library will celebrate Teen Read Week with the telling of hair-raising horror stories from Hawai'i and around the world at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 15.

Alton Chung will be spinning the spine-tingling tales for teens who have the nerve to show up.

Also, on Oct. 17, the library will host a Gingerbread Haunted House contest. First prize — a $25 gift certificate.

That competition is limited to 20 contestants. However, while supplies last, a Muddy Worms Treat (gummi worms in chocolate pudding and smashed Oreo cookies) will be served to teens who aren't squeamish.
