Big recycling event set for Oct. 13 at Kaimuki High

Bring everything from bicycles to cans to Kaimuki High School on Oct. 13 for the 32nd annual Aloha 'Aina Earth Day.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parking lot of Kaimuki High School. Items that can be recycled include scrap metal, auto parts, bicycles, appliances, newspapers, cardboard, beverage containers, tires, green waste, batteries, reusable household items (which will be donated) and cell phones.

Proceeds from the event will go to Kaimuki High School, Mo'ili'ili Community Center and Kapahulu Center. For more information, contact Steve Uyeno at 527-5587.
