HIFF-Sunset on the Beach lineup released

The earlier-announced Sunset on the Beach event, tied in with the upcoming Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival, has been expanded to a two-night celebration Oct. 20 and 21 at Queen's Surf Beach in Waikiki.

Food booths open at 4 p.m. and the programs begin at 4:30 p.m both days.

The schedule:

Oct. 20

  • 4:30 p.m. — Nethermind.

  • 5:30 p.m. — Barefoot Natives.

  • 6:25 p.m. — HIFF program.

  • 6:40 p.m. — short films.

  • 7 p.m. — "Tyrannosaurus Azteca," filmed on Oahu, about Spanish conquistador Cortés' encounter with Montezuma where a tribe of Aztecs live in the jungles of Mexico. Featuring Shawn Lathrop, Kalani Queyo, William Snow, Dichen Lachman, Jack McGee and Ian Ziering.

    Oct. 21

  • 4:30 p.m. — Vaihi.

  • 5:30 p.m. — Eddie Kamae and the Sons of Hawaii.

  • 6:25 p.m. — HIFF program.

  • 6:40 p.m. — "Lahaina: Waves of Change," a documentary by Eddie Kamae exploring the historical and cultural importance of the Maui port.

  • 7:40 p.m. — To be announced.
