Trade wind weather expected to last into new week

A high-pressure system north of the state will produce trade wind weather into the first part of next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Trade winds will come down a bit by next Wednesday as the high pressure area weakens, forecasters said.

Clouds and showers will favor windward and mauka areas over the next several days, with a few showers reaching Leeward areas during times of stronger trades, especially at night.

Here's how the new few days look at this point:

Today, partly sunny with scattered showers. Highs 78 to 87. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 87. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 to 76. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 80 to 87. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
