  • Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann will be keynote speaker at the International Council of Shopping Centers' Fifth Annual Next Generation Alliance Meeting and Reception. Hannemann speaks at 3:30 p.m. on "Public/Private Partnerships," followed by a panel discussion by Mel Kaneshige of The Outrigger Group; Jeff Arce, of the McNaughton Group, and John Behling of General Growth Properties, owner of Ala Moana Center and Ward Centers. The final speaker, at 5 p.m., will be Ed Korybski, executive director of the Honolulu Culture and Arts District. The event is scheduled in The Red Elephant, at Mark's Garage, 1144 Bethel St., in Chinatown. Noncouncil members welcome. Fee; higher-priced tickets at the door.   • "Gateway Marketplace, The 'Ohana Showcase," a business "craft fair" trade show, will be offered 5-9 p.m. today, sponsored by the Hawai'i Women's Business Center. The event is scheduled to coincide with the popular monthly First Friday Downtown arts tour, with an emphasis on arts-related businesses. Also on hand will be experts from HWBC advising how participating businesses can get, and benefit from, more exposure. The event will be at 1041 Nu'uanu Ave. (Fee for display tables.)
