The Retail Merchants of Hawai'i trade association will honor outstanding retailers at its Ho'okela Awards annual conference and trade show Oct. 18 in the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Coral Ballroom.

This year, a special award for exemplary service to the retail industry will be presented to Barbara Campbell, retail leasing vice president of Outrigger Enterprises Group.

Campbell played a key role in Outrigger's new Waikiki Beach Walk retail development on Lewers Street.

Other award winners will be announced during the event.

The event runs from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and starts with a trade show featuring a presentation on engaged employees by Queen Lili'uokalani Trust Chairman Thomas K. Kaulukukui Jr., followed by keynote presentations on technology tools for retailers. A continental breakfast and lunch are included.

Cost for the entire event is $75 for members of the nonprofit trade group, or $95 for nonmembers. Cost to attend only the later portion of the event, starting with the 10 a.m. keynote presentation, is $70 for members and $90 for nonmembers.

For more information or to register, contact Kimberly Chikazawa at 808-592-4200 or retailmerchantsofhawaii@RMHawaii.org.
