Lacrosse tourney, free clinics on tap at Kapi'olani Park

The Hawaii Lacrosse Invitational Tournament will be Oct. 26 to 28 at Kapi'olani Park.

Matches start at 2 p.m. Oct. 26 and continue from 9 a.m. on the final two days of the event.

There will be more than 40 teams competing in the tournament, with teams from Japan, Canada and the Mainland. There are divisions for women, elite men, masters men and grandmasters men.

In conjunction with the tournament, there will be a free youth clinic Oct. 26 at 4 p.m., also at Kapi'olani Park.

There will be professional players from the Mainland along with local players giving instruction.

In addition to the instruction, there will be prize giveaways and autograph sessions.

Two youth exhibitions involving Hawai'i girls and boys will be on Oct. 28 at noon.

There free clinics on Nov. 18 at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park and at Kapi'olani Park. Both clinics are at 2 p.m.

The Five-O Boxing Club will host a smoker Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. at the Evolution Training Center at 94-547 Ukee St., Suite 209, in Waipi'o.

Boxers from O'ahu, Maui, Kaua'i and the Big Island are expected to fight. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
