Police have charged Arvin S. Comesario in connection with a burglary and robbery in Nu'uanu on Wednesday.

Police believe Comesario was one of two men who broke into a house in the area and fled when the owner arrived home and found them inside.

As the two men tried to leave, one repeatedly drove his car into a vehicle operated by the homeowner, police said.

Comesario, who matched the description of one burglar given by the homeowner, was arrested a short time later after he boarded a bus on Pali Highway, police said. He was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary.

TWO NOMINATED TO LAND USE PANEL

Gov. Linda Lingle yesterday made two nominations to the state Land Use Commission to fill vacancies caused by members who resigned.

Lingle named Kyle Chock, director of The Pacific Resource Partnership, which supports union contractors, for a term that expires at the end of June 2010. The governor chose Normand "Chip" Lezy, an attorney who specializes in maritime law, for a term that expires in June 2008. Lingle said Lezy, if confirmed by the Senate, will serve a full four-year term.

PUBLIC'S HELP SOUGHT IN ROBBERY

Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who robbed a pizza delivery man at gunpoint in downtown Honolulu on Sept. 16.

The robbery occurred about 4:50 p.m. at 1088 Bishop St.

Police said the gunman apparently called for a delivery to the building from a pay phone in the building's lobby. When the pizza arrived at an upper floor, he jumped out of a stairwell, pointed a gun at the delivery man, demanded money and fled down the stairs.

The robber was described as 6 feet 2 and 220 pounds.
