Honolulu Theatre for Youth fundraiser set for Oct. 27

Honolulu Theatre for Youth's annual fundraising event, Le Masquerade 2007, will take place on Oct. 27 at the Manoa Grand Ballroom at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i.Fashion designer Anne Namba has put together the look for the special evening, and Kenny and Chizuko Endo are in charge of program direction.
In addition to dinner, the event features a silent auction and sneak peeks from HTY's chilling new play, "Obake." Expect exciting taiko and shakuhachi performances, obon dancing, sushi and tempura stations, noodles, beef, whole pig, chicken, sake tasting, green tea martinis, obake hair and make-up stations, a yakuza tattoo station and entrancing set design.
HTY's Nancy Corbett Award for lifelong support of children's theater will be given to Polly Steiner. The HTY Corporate Friend Award will be given to Stanford Carr Development. Costumes are encouraged and there will be prizes for the best ninja, geisha, shogun, samurai, or empire costumes. Al Waterson will serve as master of ceremonies.
