Bail set for 2 men facing drug charges on Big Island

Associated Press

HILO, Hawai'i — Bail for two California men facing drug charges on the Big Island has been set at $150,000 apiece.

Police say charges against Herman Robles and Cirilo Sotelo include second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. They have also been charged with criminal conspiracy to conduct unlawful methamphetamine trafficking.

Lt. Samuel Jelsma says officers from the Hilo Vice Section's Ice Task Force Unit recovered 30 grams of crystal meth when a search warrant was served at a house in Mountain View.

Jelsma says the 30-year-old Robles and 47-year-old Sotelo were arrested at the time.

The continuing investigation allowed officers to obtain a second search warrant for a Peck Road residence. There, police say, they found $2,700 in cash.
