NBA: Knicks Curry has tear in right shoulder

COLUMBIA, S.C. — New York Knicks center Eddy Curry has a tear in his right shoulder and will miss the preseason opener today against Philadelphia.He will be re-evaluated by a team doctor in New York City tomorrow.
Curry, who averaged 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds last season, had an MRI yesterday at Palmetto Richland Hospital, the team said on its Web site.
The Knicks play the 76ers at the Colonial Center near the campus of the University of South Carolina.
