Code green? Sisters Kaitlyn, front, and Adria Pang, of Mililani, are among the Girl Scouts who are hoping to change O'ahu one energy-saving bulb at a time. They and other young women in uniform will be at all City Mill locations around O'ahu for two hours beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, asking people to sign the national "Change a Light, Change the World" pledge to switch to compact fluorescent lights.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

SAVE MONEY WHILE GOING ORGANIC

Want to go organic without going broke? Tips from www.frugalliving.about.com:

1. Buy store-brand organics.

2. Grow your own (both mint and basil grow well here).

3. Buy in bulk at the big boxes, especially if you can share.

4. Shop farmers markets.

5. Stick to the "dirty dozen" (nonorganics of these have the highest pesticide levels): peaches, apples, sweet bell peppers, celery, nectarines, strawberries, cherries, lettuce, imported grapes, pears, spinach, potatoes.
