KIHEI
New recycling center in works

Advertiser Staff

The Kihei Recycling and Redemption Center is closed for construction of a new recycling center. Fong Construction Co. is building the new facility on a 1.5-acre site adjacent to the temporary facility off Pi'ilani Highway at Welakahao Road. The project is expected to take four months.

In the meantime, South Maui residents can take items to the Maui Disposal Mobile Center at South Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Wednesday through Saturday only; or to Zitro Recycling on Halekuai Street, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Neither site accepts newspaper, cardboard or non-HI-5 containers.
