Work will delay Thursday's opening of Bishop Museum

Advertiser Staff

The Bishop Museum will open a half-hour late Thursday because of a scheduled power outage.

The museum will open at 9:30 a.m.

The outage is needed to complete planned electrical work at Hawaiian Hall, which is undergoing renovations.

The $21 million renovation project started in June 2006 and is expected to be finished in spring 2009. This is the first renovation of the building in over a century.

Updates on the renovation are available at www.bishopmuseum.org/special/renovation.html.

For more information on the museum and its programs, call 847-3511 or go to www.bishopmuseum.org.
