New state librarian named

Richard P. Burns has been named new State Librarian by the Board of Education, effective January 2008. His appointment was announced by Board of Education Chairman Karen Knudsen yesterday.Burns will replace current State Librarian Jo Ann Schindler, who is retiring at the end of the year after serving as acting State Librarian since July 2003 and as State Librarian since October 2003.
