No tsunami threat after 3.1 quake hits Big Island

A minor earthquake with a 3.1 magnitude was recorded by the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory at 1:28 a.m. today.The quake was recorded 9 miles west-northwest of Kilauea Summit at a hypocentral depth of 4 miles.
No tsunami bulletins were issued from the quake.
