Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team, with new head coach Bob Nash, was picked to finish sixth in the Western Athletic Conference in both the coaches and media poll.

New Mexico State was voted No. 1 by the media and Utah State was picked No. 1 by the coaches.

In both voting, Utah State's senior point guard Jaycee Carroll is the WAC Preseason Player of the Year.

No UH player is picked on the preseason first team. Senior guard Bobby Nash, the coach's son, is picked on the second team by the coaches.
