UH College of Education trio wins publication contest

Morris Lai, Hugh Dunn and Mark Yap of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa's College of Education Curriculum Research & Development Group received first place in the School Evaluation and Program Development Division's outstanding publications competition at the annual American Educational Research Association meeting in Chicago in April, UH announced yesterday.

They produced a DVD, entitled "A Mo'olelo Evaluation of Pihana Na Mamo," which focuses on alternative techniques for report planning, research, evaluation and assessment activities.

The Native Hawaiian Special Education project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and has been a joint project with the Hawai'i State Department of Education since 2000.
