Fujikawa finishes 2-over at Las Vegas tourney

Moanalua High junior Tadd Fujikawa finished at 2-over 74 in the opening round of the PGA Tour's Frys.com Open today in Las Vegas.

Fujikawa, a 16-year-old making his fifth pro start, was relatively even through the day until a double bogey on the 17th hole.

He birdied the par-4 No. 2 and par-5 No. 3 at the TPC Summerlin course to go to 2-under, but bogeyed two par-4s (Nos. 4 and 6).

He parred the seventh through 11th holes, bogeyed the 12th and birdied the 13th. He parred the 14th, then bogeyed the 15th to go 1-up. Fujikawa birdied the 16th to remain even, but double bogeyed the 17th to drop to 2-over. He parred the 18th to finish the day.

Castle High School graduate Dean Wilson finished the round at even par 71 at the TPC Canyons course. He had three birdies, three bogeys and parred 12 holes.

Bob May leads at 9-under 63 at the TPC Canyons.

Honolulu's Parker McLachlin finished at 2-under 69 at the TPC Canyons.
