Scope out stars in Waimea sky

Spend an evening exploring the night sky at Scoping Out the Stars, on Nov. 9 at the Waimea Valley Audubon Center.

The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Reservations are required.

Attendees will discover astronomy basics and view Makali'i, the tiny group of stars also known as the Pleiades. Telescopes will be provided by Stargazers of Hawai'i.

Bring a flashlight, a blanket/mat and a picnic dinner. Program fee is $8 general, $6 for ages 4 to 12.
